Victor Restis and the Restis Family Foundation demonstrate a strong commitment to the health, welfare and education of children through the many non-profit organizations they support. Most notable are the humanitarian efforts created by the Restis Family Foundation in Africa and the support of child welfare service organizations in the family’s native Greece.

In cooperation with the educational organization “EUROGNOSI”, Mr. Restis, the Restis family and staff from Enterprises Shipping & Trading S.A. joined forces to gather an enormous quantity of food, clothing, shoes, toys, books, and other supplies for distribution at child welfare organization in Greece. Beneficiaries of the food and supplies drive included the Orphanage of Piraeus “Children’s House”, the “Pedopolis of St. Andreas” and to the Labour Center of Piraeus for Deprived Families of the Shipbuilding Zone of Perama. In addition to the volunteer man hours and collection of the supplies, Mr. Restis and the Restis Family Foundation covered all costs associated with the delivery and distribution to each of the organizations.

Both the Children’s House in Piraeus and the Pedopolis of St. Andreas cater to children displaced by violence or abuse in their home. Both organizations offer safety, security and a loving environment of healing and flourishment for childen. In addition to food, clothing and toy drives, Mr. Restis and the Restis Family Foundation offer year-round support of educational materials and supplies each child needs to continue learning and growing while at these centers.

The Labour Center of Piraeus for Deprived Families of the Shipbuilding Zone of Perama helps those affected by the devastating deindustrialization process due to global competition. The Perama Zone, a port city within the Piraeus region, is one of the poorest neighborhoods in Athens but serves as an important lifeline of commerce for shipbuilders, workers and small businesses catering to Greece’s tourism industry.
