Sibanthracite Group is ranked first in the production and export of UHG anthracite throughout the world, and is the largest producer of metallurgical coal at the domestic level. Sibanthracite Group is one of the most dynamically developing coal companies in Russia. The coal production amounted to 6 million tonnes in 2014, and 24.1 million tonnes in 2018.

The leading producer and exporter of UGH anthracite across the globe, the Sibanthracite Group, has implemented a new innovation that is changing the way the company manages its daily operations. The Sibanthracite Group’s new electronic work order system will result in both improved production control, as well as increased safety, and takes the company one step further in achieving its vision to fully automate the way they manage labor across all of the group’s companies.

The electronic work order system has been successfully deployed across all of the company’s subdivisions, and has eliminated all manual task management regarding shift controls. With the new electronic system, all shift specific tasks, including information on the content, volume and execution of the work performed, along with the essential safety measures followed, are entered into a standardized, fully electronic form.

One of the key benefits this brings to the daily operations of the company is the time saved for both shift supervisors and workers. Additionally, the electronic system virtually eliminates the chance of any human error that may occur with managing through manual documents.

The system also features additional, fully integrated safety enhancements, increasing the overall safety for all projects. As an example, when utilizing the electronic system, if production control identifies any safety violation, the system has the capability to immediately issue a stop work order that prohibits further work until the problem has been resolved. The electronic system is also able to withhold work assignments automatically for any employee who has not passed a pre-shift medical exam, or has failed a knowledge check or training component. The new system can even detect if an employee has not yet been issued the required personal protective equipment, and automatically prohibits them from obtaining work assignments until they do.

With the combined capability of managing both the process and quality of issuing work orders, and the rich analytics the electronic system will provide as a repository for data, the Sibanthracite Group plans on deploying the electronic system to both its Vostochny and Kiyzassky Open Pit Mines in 2020, and will make the technology available to its contractors as well. The launch of the new electronic work order system is a key component for activating the Sibanthracite Group’s company wide vision to create a fully integrated and automated labor protection system, for use across all of its companies.
